DAVID Gaught retained the Sir Henry Cotton Cup as he once again became club champion of Gosfield Lake Golf Club.
Gaught’s first round was the more impressive as it was played in extremely wet conditions and his score led the field by four strokes.
In the second round, Gosfield youth team player Jack Rayner was closest to Gaught and managed to reduce the total deficit to three strokes, but he was unable to overhaul Gaught.
Rayner had the consolation of finishing first after handicap with a total of 146 net.
Other prizes were presented to Dale Argent, Mat Payne, Stuart Jones, Colin Dinmore and Nigel Kent.
