CHARLIE Rusbridge has been named in England Golf's National Boys’ Squad for 2024/25.

The 16-year-old Colne Valley Golf Club youngster is one of five players who are new to the squad, after impressive seasons.

England Golf have also confirmed a 13-player National Men’s Squad, ahead of competitions such as the Walker Cup.

England Golf Men’s Performance Manager Ben Gorvett said: “It’s been another good year developing players and helping them realise their potential, with several going on to reach professional status.

"We’re excited to work with some very talented golfers over the coming 12 months and hope to help them all improve so they have the best possible platform to go on and achieve great things in the game.

“It’s also an exciting year ahead with the likes of the World Junior Championship, World Amateur Team Championships and Walker Cup, which will provide some unforgettable tests for many of these players, and hopefully they can not just challenge for, but win, medals across competitions.”

Earlier this year, Rusbridge won the English U18 Amateur Championship, Essex Amateur County Championship, Keating Trophy, and FET – Portugal.

He also finished third at the under-18 French Open and fourth in the Fairhaven Trophy.

Rusbridge helped England pick up silver at the European Boys’ Team Championship and bronze at European Young Masters and was a member of the Essex team that won the 2024 Men’s County Finals for the first time since 2009.

In 2023, he won the Estuary Trophy and finished second in the Essex Amateur County Championship.
