Hundreds of people turned out for Halstead's spectacular torchlight procession.
The unique festive tradition last night saw crowds carrying flaming torches or glow sticks from Market Hill down to Halstead Public Gardens, accompanied by the Salvation Army band.
It began with a blessing of the crib at the Christmas tree on Market Hill and finished with the annual town carol service, conducted by Churches Together in Halstead.
