LOCAL ladies are inviting Earls Colne residents to join them in donating and writing Christmas cards, in support of an Essex charity that helps spread cheer to those less fortunate.
Morleys road resident, Vicky Faulks and Julie Cass of Atlas road are hosting a ‘cuppa and mammoth card writing’ event on Wednesday 20 November.
The event comes in support of, Essex group The Sleigh Belles and Christmas Card Donation.
The group supports care homes, homeless charities and hospitals every winter, aiming to ‘make lots of people smile’ over the Christmas period with a greeting card.
The cards are donated, written and distributed to those unwell in emergency care, without a home, or those spending Christmas alone.
Villagers are invited to bring along their own cards to donate and write some out for those in need of ‘Christmas cheer’.
In a social media post, Vicky Faulks said: “We would be super grateful if you could join us, enjoy a cuppa, chat and get into the spirit of what Christmas is really all about... spreading joy!”
The event will be held at Earls Colne Recreation Club from 11am – 2pm.
