A TIKTOK star has adopted a rescue pup from an Essex animal shelter after falling in love with him.
George Baggs adopted Eric the French bulldog from the Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield.
Mother and Gogglebox star, Lisa Baggs, visited Danaher for the first time earlier this month and enjoyed a morning of ‘cuteness overload’ while touring the site.
The Baggs family starred on Channel 4's Gogglebox in 2020 for two years, before going viral on social media.
The ‘mum of Tik Tok’ returned to the rescue home last week, accompanied by son George, husband Terry and George’s girlfriend, Lauren.
Lisa said: "We are blown away at how wonderful the home is and at how they look after all the lovely dogs, cats and other animals that need rehoming.
"It’s completely changed our perception on rescue animals.
"If we ever feel ready in the future we would definitely adopt from them."
Danaher’s social media and community engagement officer Ryan Lynch said: “They came initially to film some content, and Lauren fell in love with little Eric.
“Due to normal policy, they had to then have a few meets to make sure Eric was the correct match for their family.
“George came in to meet Eric and straight away we knew it was a match.
“The family had lost their Frenchie earlier in the year, so we knew it was a special moment for them.
“Eric spent the whole meeting running around and then lapping up all the attention from George, Lauren and Lisa and Terry too."
The Baggs family took Eric home last Thursday, with George posting a TikTok, captioned ‘welcome to your forever home little man’.
Ryan added: “George, Lauren, Lisa and Terry came along to meet Eric and spent some time with him in the meet and great room before taking him out on a long walk.
“It was clear to all the Danaher Staff this was a match made in heaven.
“Eric wouldn’t leave their side and was excited to be around them the entire time.
“It was heart-warming to see Eric find his forever home, after arriving at Danaher due to some difficult circumstances he experienced in his life.
“One thing we know for sure is that Eric will have the best life.”
