A Halstead woman has shared the journey of her career in the care sector, which she describes as "truly special."
Lavanya Lokesh Kumar joined the care industry three years ago and has seen her career flourish.
She now wishes to inspire others to consider a career in care.
Ms Kumar works for ivolve Care, one of the country's largest adult social care providers.
Despite being in her first job in the care sector, Ms Kumar has seen her career grow.
Her passion for caring for others and her drive to provide the best care possible have enabled her to progress.
She said: "A career in care is an extremely rewarding one.
"It’s an industry I feel lucky to be a part of and one I’d recommend to anyone considering it."
Since joining ivolve Care in 2021, Ms Kumar has been promoted to deputy manager, having progressed from support worker to team leader, and then to deputy manager, all within her first two years.
Her responsibilities expanded from providing care for one individual to overseeing the day-to-day running of the home and managing support workers.
She said: "When I discuss my career development with my manager, I get all I need to achieve my personal goals.
"Anyone who is empathetic, kind and patient can create a fulfilling career in care.
"If you are authentic and have clear goals, the sky is the limit.
"A career in care can be exactly what you want it to be."
According to the council, there are opportunities for people of all ages within the care sector, with roles open to those starting their careers, who already have experience, or are looking for a career change.
Councillor John Spence, cabinet member for health and social care at Essex County Council, said: "In talking about her experiences, Lavanya has expressed far more eloquently than I could just how fulfilling a career in care can be.
"Her experience speaks volumes: of the fulfilment, career development and job satisfaction; the ability to make a real difference to the lives of the people you support."
