A post office in Halstead has announced its new opening hours, allowing the community access to services 6 days a week from this month.
Located in Abels road Co-op, Parkfields Post Office offers Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide services as well as drop & go, travel money cards and lottery prize payments.
The town has seen a huge loss of banks over the years, forcing locals to visit the post office to take cash out and pay bills – as well as to post parcels and letters.
With just three post offices located in Halstead, Parkfields launched its new opening hours earlier this month – announcing the office will be open to the public 6 days a week.
The new hours include 9am -6pm on Mondays, 9am – 5.30pm Tuesday – Friday and 9am – 2pm on Saturdays.
Parkfields Post Office will remain closed every Sunday.
Halstead residents have been sharing their thoughts on the new opening times on social media, with one local saying it’s ‘great’ that they are open daily, and the new hours will make it ‘far easier to use than main post office’.
The new opening hours are affective from October 14, 2024.
