A GROUP of friends are set to turn the clock back to the 80s after organising a forthcoming Halstead school reunion.
Keith Smith, 57, alongside school friends Gaynor Preston and Nikki Regan have arranged a Ramsey School reunion for the class of 1984.
It’s being held at The Drapers pub, in High Street, Earls Colne, on October 12 from 7pm onwards.
The trio organised a previous school reunion seven years ago and more than 65 people attended but a lot of former pupils were unable to attend, so they’ve decided to do it again.
Keith said: “Many missed though different reasons but suggested for another reunion.
“So the three of us have put our heads together and to try again, we have roughly 58 going from all over the UK, two from abroad, and 23 people interested - including a school teacher.
“The idea is hopefully just to meet up for many who have not seen each other for years, even since they left.
“The last reunion two people met up for the first time in years and ended up getting married.”
Former classmates are allowed to bring a plus one, and in Keith’s words “at the worst, you waste a few hours” or you could have a “great time and rekindle old friendships”.
