AN EVENT dedicated to celebrating a Halstead skatepark’s new look has been postponed due to a weather warning.
Braintree District Council has confirmed that the Skate Jam at Ramsey Road Skatepark, in Juniper Close, Halstead, has been postponed.
It was due to take place tomorrow, August 24, between 2pm to 6pm.
It has been postponed due to Storm Lillian and a yellow weather warning for rain issued by the Met Office earlier today.
Braintree Council partnered with volunteers, businesses and organisations to host the Skate Jam, it was also going to feature live music, demonstrations, and BMS sessions.
The skatepark reopened in July after undergoing a refurbishment.
A post on the council’s Facebook page said: “Unfortunately, due to the event being outside, it will not be practical or safe to carry on with the planned event.
“We would like to thank the skate park community for working with us on the event and we will continue to work with them to rearrange our plans.”
A new date for the event will be announced in the future.
