TWO brothers have told of their excitement as they prepare to bring a new gym to Halstead.
The site, named Revamp, will open in the High Street this October, offering a "completely new model" to the local community.
After launching a "new concept" gym in Hadleigh last year, co-owner Jack Cardy, who runs Revamp with brother Jacob, wants to encourage smaller communities to "get to the bottom of their health and fitness challenges" with a tailored work out experience.
He said: “About a year ago I wanted to open a new concept gym to really help people get to the bottom of their health and fitness challenges.
“I opened a gym in Hadleigh and it’s been really successful.
“Our PT-style studio takes small groups for coaching sessions, individual programming and attention, and tailored nutrition.
“The biggest thing with Revamp is it’s a completely different model to other gyms.
“Other gyms are open gyms, and they’re incentivised for people not to turn up – to pay and not come – because if they all come the gym would reach full capacity and that causes carnage.
“It doesn’t help anyone – in fitness or health terms."
The new gym will take on 60 to 80 members, offering a tailored experience with new state-of-the-art equipment.
“Unlike other gyms, if any member doesn’t turn up, they take full accountability for it," said Jack.
“If someone doesn’t make it, we’ll send them a text just checking in – ‘Hey, where are you? Are you okay?’ – to keep them on track.
“Being community-based is really important to us."
Since its initial launch at the beginning of the month, Revamp already has 400 members of Halstead’s community on its waiting list.
“We only have space for 80 ish members, we can’t take any more than that," Jack said.
“If we do, people won’t be able to book the sessions they want.
“Keeping numbers small ensures the product and service is high.
“We’re really excited to open Revamp in Halstead.
“We’re looking forward to having the community involved and would love to speak with local businesses from a community perspective."
Revamp will open in October.
