POST Office services have been restored in an Essex village after the site has reopened under new management.

Earls Colne Post Office has re-opened, at the same location as before, at 52 High Street.

The former hardware store has become a convenience store, now known as Earls Colne store.

As well as this, the new Postmaster, Parathithas Vijayaratnam, undertook the whole refit of the premises.

The reopening has restored Post Office services to Earls Colne.

The previous branch closed in December 2023 due to the resignation of the postmaster.

Customers of main UK banks can access accounts at the new branch.

Other services include bill payment, cash withdrawals and foreign currency, Postage, home shopping collections and returns.

The new Post Office opening hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm from Monday to Sunday.

This provides 54 hours of Post Office service a week for the convenience of customers.

Wendy Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office services to Earls Colne as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.

“I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that our customers will continue to use this service.”
