A GROUP of talented youngsters will be performing their rendition of a Disney classic later this month.
Pupils of the Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy, a family-run theatre school in Halstead, will be performing Beauty and The Beast for two shows on July 21.
The production is taking place at Empire Theatre, in Butler Road, and a matinee performance will start at 2.30pm before an evening show at 6.30pm.
Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy is an independent theatre school for children and young adults aged three to 18-years-old.
Its aim is to help develop the performance skills and build confidence for young people who enjoy acting, drama, and the theatre.
Debbie Marks is the principal of Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy.
She said: “The has been great fun putting together a Disney classic this year, the music in Disney productions is so iconic you can’t resist to toe tap along.
“Costuming this year has been a big focus behind the scenes and it’s been worth the effort, it really is spectacular.
“I can’t wait for the children to show their hard work on the stage.
“With the mix of ages at Fred’s we always look for a production that allows all the children to participate and incorporates a lot of fun light-hearted elements to balance the more serious parts.
“They’ve all worked really hard in rehearsals and support each other so well it makes me very proud.”
Tickets cost £13 and can be purchased at empire-theatre.co.uk/beauty-and-the-beast-jr-21-7.
