A HALSTEAD school which promotes “inclusion and high aspiration” has been praised in a new report.
The town’s Holy Trinity C of E Primary School has undergone a new Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.
SIAMS reports evaluate the extent to which church schools are “distinctively and recognisably Christian institutions”.
The Halstead school has set out its vision, which states: “We are an inclusive, aspirational school that builds a kind, resilient community.”
The SIAMS report was full of praise for the school, noting strengths in its curriculum, values, staff and more.
It reads: “Holy Trinity’s vision was carefully chosen to reflect the needs of the community it serves.
“Leaders are ambitious for the school to be a place which is characterised by respect, honesty and love.
“As such, the vision is lived out through an open-hearted and welcoming approach, which is central to this.
“The values, particularly the ‘golden rule’ to treat others as you wish to be treated yourself, drive the school’s inclusive culture.”
In the report, staff were described as “role models”, who “recognise and praise the values when they are lived out by others”.
It added how relationships are “strong at every level”, meaning “pupils and their families thrive in a community of care and respect”.
It was noted the school puts an emphasis on “continuous development and holding high aspirations” which motivates pupils to do their best.
The curriculum was also hailed, with the report saying it was designed with “inclusion and aspiration at its heart”.
It added: “The religious education (RE) curriculum is well balanced and sequenced. Supported by strong leadership, this provides pupils with effective provision.”
Inspector Christopher Grey also explained how leaders at the school demonstrate staff are “valued” by “carefully managing workloads and providing practical arrangements for wellbeing”.
On the successful and positive report, headteacher Sarah Rowe said: “I am thrilled for the school to receive such a glowing report that truly reflects the ethos of high aspirations, the strong relationships across the whole community and the commitment to global courageous advocacy.
“It echoes the compliments that visitors give the school on a regular basis."
