THE star of a much-loved Channel 4 series is coming to Halstead’s Empire Theatre for a rib-tickling night of comedy.

Joe Thomas, or as many know him, Simon Cooper from the hit TV show The Inbetweeners, is among the line up for the upcoming Halstead Comedy Club event presented by Chuckl.

Following the success of The Inbetweeners and the two eponymous films which followed Joe starred as Kingsley in all four series of Fresh Meat, and as George in Chickens, which he also co-wrote.

Most recently Joe starred as Nick in the 2018 feature film The Festival and as Martin Lavender in the BBC2 sitcom White Gold, alongside Ed Westwick and James Buckley.

Joe is also a regular on the stand-up circuit, delighting audiences up and down the country, while also trying to persuade them he’s not actually a teenage boy.

Joining Joe is fellow comedian Angelos Epithemiou.

Unwitting star of Shooting Stars on BBC 2, Dave’s One Night Stand and Channel 4’s The Angelos Epithemiou Show, cult favourite Angelos takes a giant leap into the spotlight yet again in this shambolic, weird and wonderful show.

Think Little Britain meets Vic and Bob meets a smattering of Ivan Brackenbury and then lower your expectations and get on board.

Fellow comedians also on the bill are Kevin Daniel and Ross McGrane.

Kevin has been performing stand-up since June 2019 and has more than 200 gigs under his belt.

His commanding stage presence, exquisite storytelling and quips a plenty always leave audiences wanting more.

Ross is a comedian who auditioned for Series 12 of Britain's Got Talent.

He started the ever-growing comedy club Little Smash Comedy in 2002 and has already supported industry heavyweights such as Jo Brand, Sean Walsh, Bob Mills and Patrick Monohan.

An Empire spokesman said: “Sit back, enjoy the show and get ready to laugh your socks off. This is stand-up at its best.

“Make sure you book your tickets early to avoid missing out and please note line up may be subject to change.”

Halstead Empire's comedy club is on Friday, May 31. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start time.

Tickets are £20 and can be booked online at empire-theatre.co.uk or by calling 07778 025490.
