A HERITAGE preservation society in Halstead is celebrating receiving a £1,000 boost as apart of a £1million fund.
Halstead 21st Century Group received £1,000 as part of the Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards where more than £1million is shared between charities, with members of the public nominating causes close to their hearts.
The £1,000 donation will help provide equipment and training to volunteers, as well as allowing further access to resources and contacts that will benefit the work of the group.
Halstead 21st Century Group chairman Eileen Penn thanked the public for their support.
She said: “Halstead 21st Century Group is a not-for-profit open space and heritage-based charity aimed at preserving the built and natural heritage in Halstead and the surrounding areas.
“The grant will enable us to continue this work by providing much needed funds for day to day running and will also assist us in widening our organisational network.”
Halstead 21st Century Group aims to develop a heritage site for visitors which is educational for local schools and youth clubs to visit, as well as becoming a great asset for the community.
Further winners of the Movement for Good Awards will be revealed later in the year and Essex residents are encouraged to keep nominating by visiting https://movementforgood.com/.
