A CHARITY which supports people with hearing loss is hosting a free service in Halstead next month.
Hearing Help Essex will provide its NHS hearing aid maintenance service at the Halstead Community Shed, in Fenn Road, on April 25 from 10.10am until 11.50am.
The charity has been active for almost 40 years and aims to help people feel less isolated by providing routine hearing aid maintenance at convenient locations.
The Halstead Community Shed, which is led by resident Kevin Pryke, started welcoming groups at the former St John Ambulance Station at the start of March.
Sophie Ede, of Hearing Help Essex says: “Many people don’t realise that hearing aids need cleaning regularly and that they need retubing every 4-6 months to keep them in good working order.
“Our volunteers are trained to assist with essential retubing, cleaning and general hearing aid maintenance for NHS hearing aid users.
“We are proud to be bringing this service to the residents of Halstead thanks to support from the team at Halstead Community Shed who have invited us to use their venue to deliver this service”.
Appointments will be held once a month and can be booked online at tinyurl.com/2vvn746y.
