A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of multiple drug offences after police stopped a vehicle which “captured their attention”.
Special constables from Colchester's policing team were conducting patrols on Wednesday evening when they stopped a vehicle.
After carrying out a search the volunteer officers discovered a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B drugs.
They also found a large amount of cash during their stop and search.
A 21-year-old from Coggeshall has since been arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed drug limit, possession of a Class B drug and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
The spokesman for Essex Police in Colchester said: “Officers from our special constabulary were out on patrol when they saw a vehicle which captured their attention.
“After stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver, the special constables utilised their powers and conducted a stop and search discovering a large amount of cash, suspected Class B drugs and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs."
