A MOTORBIKE rider has died and a man has been arrested following a serious collision.
A 40-year-old motorbike rider was involved in a fatal collision with a box van just before 10.40am on Saturday.
The A131 near Twinstead, between Halstead and Sudbury was closed throughout the afternoon.
Despite the efforts of the emergency services who attended, the motorbike rider died at the scene.
The driver of the lorry, a 29-year-old man from Enfield, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was taken into custody for questioning and has since been released under investigation.
The road re-opened at around 6.25pm after police had finished their investigation and recovered the vehicles.
