AN historic venue is inviting visitors to enjoy its annual scenic walks to welcome in the spring.

Hedingham Castle has announced its 2024 dates for the much-anticipated snowdrop walks, offering visitors a chance to witness the awakening of nature at the estate.

The events will take place on selected dates throughout February and into March, starting from Sunday, February 11, providing a captivating experience for families, nature enthusiasts and history lovers alike.

The grounds open from 11am to 4pm on the listed dates, inviting people to explore the exquisite gardens and the majestic Hedingham Castle itself.

Entry tickets include access to both the castle and gardens, providing a delightful journey through the picturesque woodland adorned with blooming snowdrops.

Visitors can then warm up in the charming tearooms inside the castle, which offer light refreshments including a selection of cakes.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, except for inside the castle.

As an exciting addition during the February half-term, Hedingham Castle is also offering two interactive activities for youngsters.

There will be a nature trail from Sunday, February 18, to Sunday, February 25.

For an additional £1 per child, little explorers can embark on a nature trail around the grounds.

Participants will receive an activity sheet guiding them through the grounds to discover hidden beasties.

The adventure concludes at the tearooms, where a sweet treat awaits.

There is also the return of the popular Knight School on Wednesday, February 21, Thursday, February 22, and Friday, February 23.

A spokesman said: “Immerse yourself in medieval fun at Knight School.

“Suitable for children aged six and over, as well as adults, participants will learn combat techniques using padded weapons under the guidance of Knight’s Tower Medieval Combat School."

Sessions take place at 11.30am, 1pm, and 2.15pm.

Tickets for Knight School are an additional £2.50 per person for a one-hour session, to be purchased along with a snowdrop walks entry ticket.
