A RURAL festival has been crowned one of the top festivals of the year for 2023 in East Anglia.
The Bures Music Festival supports a multitude of musical genres from jazz to blues, and rock to pop, plus a popular choral night.
It was named third in the top ten for Suffolk in the East Anglian Festival Network Festivals of the Year 2023 Awards.
The festival in Bures, which straddles the Essex and Suffolk border, began in 1997.
It shared the news on social media, saying: “Wow, Bures Music Festival came third.
“Our 2023 event was one of Suffolk's top festivals as voted by you in the East Anglian Festival Network Festivals of the Year 2023 Awards.
“Congratulations to all the other festivals in the category and thank you lovely Bures Music Festival supporters for taking the time to choose us.
“Here’s to a fabulous 2024.”
The Bures Music Festival has grown to become one of the most diverse and exciting events in the region.
Nestled by the River Stour, the festival is held in the heart of the picturesque village.
