PLANS to extend a popular pub have been given the go ahead.
The Swan Inn submitted plans to build a single storey outbuilding to serve food to Colchester Council in July.
The planning authority wrote to bosses of the pub, in The Street, Chappel, on Wednesday to approve the development.
The application received the support of parish councillors, with Chappel Parish Council proposing a partnership with the pub to ensure youngsters can enjoy the nearby play area safely.
“We wish the Swan every success and look forward to working towards a solution,” the parish council wrote.
