ESSEX Fire crews worked to tackle a large field fire which saw nearly 100 bales of hay alight.
Firefighters were called to the scene in Bures Road, White Colne, yesterday afternoon, August 21, at 5.35pm.
On arrival, crews from Colchester and Chelmsford reported a hay baler and about 80 bales of hay were on fire.
Due to a limited water supply, firefighters requested two more crews from Halstead and Stansted.
They also requested a water bowser from Halstead to help with the limited water supply.
Firefighters surrounded the fire and worked with the farmer to extinguish it by 7.41pm.
