What began as a passion project between Roy Smith and Bill Scillitoe evolved into a thriving venture.

Responding to Julian Courtauld's call, they established a limited company and kicked off their journey with a workshop to maintain Courtauld estates.

For nearly five decades, the workshop stood as a creative nucleus, merging traditional woodworking with contemporary designs.

The business flourished there for 48 years, crafting pieces that graced homes throughout the region.

Two years ago, Smith and Scillitoe turned a new page, relocating to Bois Field Terrace.

The move was a strategic step towards growth, allowing the company to continue its legacy while embracing fresh opportunities.

Although Bill Scillitoe passed away in 2012, his legacy lives on through sons Richard and Philip, who after completing their college education, stepped up to lead the business.

Their dedication and expertise ensured a seamless transition, upholding the values set by their father.

Diana Scillitoe, who has been with the company from the start, managed the office side of things and supported her husband.

In recent years, her daughter-in-law has joined, broadening the company's management.

Diana said: "We're excited about the business's growth and upcoming significant projects.
