A "WARM and welcoming" village school where children "play harmoniously together" and enjoy a range of games and activities has been praised by Ofsted.
Colne Engaine C of E Primary School has received a good rating after its latest Ofsted inspection.
The school, which is a part of the Vine Schools Trust was praised for being a “warm and welcoming school at the heart of the local community” where pupils “work hard to achieve the very best they can”.
It continued: “They play harmoniously together at breaktimes and lunchtime.
“They enjoy the range of games and activities staff carefully choose to have on offer.
“Older pupils like to set up games for younger pupils to play.”
The Ofsted inspector also made note of the school’s values of empathy, responsibility, integrity, compassion, equality and respect.
They said the pupils “care deeply about why it is important to live by these values and seek to show them in everything they do at school.”
Leaders at the school were also praised for designing a curriculum which “clearly sets out what pupils will learn and the order in which they will learn it”.
Staff “skilfully adapt their teaching to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and or disabilities” and “provide pupils with a broad range of opportunities for personal development”.
Headteacher Samantha Dunne said: “I am so proud that the Ofsted report reflects the warm, welcoming and wonderful community our school is and how our children are compassionate and show integrity in all they do.
“Our broad and exciting curriculum means we prepare our children well for their future.
"We strive to ensure our children become happy, confident learners that believe they can really make a difference in the world now and in the future.”
