SCHOOLCHILDREN have joined in celebrating the coronation of King Charles III.
Ahead of the special weekend, which saw the King and Queen crowned, pupils at St Margaret’s Preparatory School, in Gosfield Hall Park, Gosfield, enjoyed a jam-packed day of royal celebrations.
The day started with a special assembly, which saw the school hall covered in red, white and blue bunting, while the children donned crowns which they had made themselves.
The children embraced the party spirit going into the afternoon, enjoying a spread fit for a king put on by the catering team, who also baked a Union Flag-inspired cake which wouldn’t look out of place on the Great British Bake Off.
Staff and children in the nursery also smiled from ear to ear while they sported their glistening gold crowns as they showed off a beautiful handmade Union Flag featuring a St George’s Cross filled with the children’s handprints in bright red paint.
A disco rounded off proceedings before the children headed home to enjoy the landmark weekend.
