HALSTEAD Town Council has confirmed further details of its coronation events coming later this year.
The coronation of Charles III and wife Camilla as King and Queen will take place on May 6, at Westminster Abbey.
To celebrate the occasion, Halstead is putting on a weekend of events for the community.
The events will all take place in the town’s public gardens, with refreshments available on both days.
On Saturday, May 6, there will be full TV coverage of the coronation which will be shown on a large outdoor screen, with the exact time to be confirmed.
At 1pm, a family film will follow, with Minions: The Rise of Gru.
The sequel continues Gru’s story, following on from Minions, the spin-off to the Despicable Me films.
On Sunday, May 7, the Beavers will be putting on a performance from 2pm to 5pm.
The five-piece band, from Halstead, specialises in Fifties, Sixties and Seventies music, and are back again playing top hits for the public to enjoy.
The band has performed in the town a number of times in the past, previously playing in Halstead Public Gardens in 2019.
