A NEW retail bakery chain is coming to Halstead, creating 16 new jobs for the area.
The shop, which is in the High Street and has replaced the old Lloyds Bank, is due to open this Friday (February 27).
The shop will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including the on-the-go-retailer’s popular sausage roll and steak bake products.
Customers can also get their hands on Greggs’ vegan-friendly items this Veganuary and beyond, including the iconic vegan sausage roll, vegan Cajun chicken-free roll and sweet potato bhaji and rice.
Freshly-made bakes and sweet treats will also be available for those looking to grab a bite on-the-go and customers will also be able to make click and collect orders via the Greggs App.
Customers can also take advantage of Greggs’ deals throughout the day, including its famed breakfast combinations, offering a breakfast roll or baguette alongside an orange juice or hot drink - served until 11am every day.
Greggs’ flat white and warming peppermint tea are among the hot drinks on offer at the new shop, all of which are 100 per cent Fairtrade.

Shop manager Baylee Barnes said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway or click and collect.”
Retail operations director Gillian Long continued: “Our new shop in Halstead is bringing 16 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
Any further jobs created at the Halstead shop will be posted on https://www.greggsfamily.co.uk/.
An earlier version of this story said the bakery opened today, January 23. This was not correct and it will open later this week.
