A NATURE reserve is inviting the public to enjoy its incredible white carpets of snowdrops.
Snowdrops are among the first flowers of spring, symbolising new beginnings.
Daws Hall Nature Reserve, at Lamarsh, is holding a series of snowdrop days to show off the flowers in all their beauty.
The reserve, on the Essex-Suffolk border, is dedicated to environmental education, from early years through to further education and adult studies.
The charity seeks to “spark a lifelong passion for nature in everyone”.
Visitors can see the carpet of snowdrops and explore the 25 acres of riverside nature reserve and three acres of private gardens.
Reserve founder Iain Grahame said: “As you can see from the image, our snowdrops really are second to none.
“They are one of the best displays of snowdrops in East Anglia."
Visitors are urged to wrap up well, and refreshments will be available.
The first day is on Sunday, January 29, from 10am to 3pm, followed by the next three Sundays.
Suggested donations are £7 for adults. Parking is free and dogs are not allowed.
Daws Hall will also be hosting a children's activities day, full of pond dipping, minibeast hunts and crafts.
The event is on Wednesday, February 15, from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
It costs £8 for children who must be accompanied, with free admission for adults.
