A MAN has been jailed after breaking into a High Street charity shop.
Issac Larter, of Evans Court in Halstead, broke into the shop before taking items inside on Monday, December 12.
Police received a 999 call from a member of the public just before midnight to reports of a man breaking into the premises.
Officers said they believed the raider had smashed a window and broken into a charity shop on Halstead High Street before taking items inside.
The force dispatched officers to the scene and detained Larter.
He was later charged with burglary as well as three counts of possession of a bladed article.
The 33-year-old appeared at Colchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 14, where he admitted all the charges.
He was sentenced to 36 weeks imprisonment.
Larter was also ordered to pay £187.
