A MAN has been charged in connection with a number of offences including burglary and possession of knives.
Police received a 999 call from a member of the public just before midnight on Monday, December 12, to reports of a man breaking into a charity shop.
Police believe the raider had smashed a window and broken into a charity shop on Halstead High Street before taking items inside.
Officers were dispatched to the scene and detained a suspect.
A man has now been charged with burglary as well as two counts of possession of a bladed article.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to thank those who called 999 to report this.
"We remanded the suspect in police custody and he would be appearing in court for the first hearing."
