A LUCKY pub is preparing to welcome English TV presenting royalty after winning a pub competition.
The White Horse pub in Sudbury is set to welcome TV presenter Jeff Stelling next month.
The Sky Sports and former Countdown presenter will come to the pub after they won an evening with him, beating 50 other pubs in the competition hosts by Greene King.
The presenter has hosted the Sky Sports coverage of English football since 1994 with his popular show Soccer Saturday.
The prize was won by pub owners Gary and Ashley Addison after they wrote a letter to Greene King to make their case for why they should win.
In the letter, Gary and Ashley said: "To be given an opportunity to have someone famous visit our little pub would be a little lift for us as a business and also a well-earned treat for the people of Sudbury."
"This would be a little nod from the Gods that we are doing a good job.
"Plus, who doesn't want a beer with Jeff?!"
The pub has revealed Jeff Stelling will be at the pub on November 16.
Ashley, who doesn’t follow football, says her husband was over the moon with the news that Jeff would be dropping by.
She added: "There's no point writing about you and how great you think your business is, it is about the people that come in here.
“We had to step back and think, it has been a rough couple of years for the community and we need to make it about them.
"We care about our customers and worry for them and value them, so we wanted to do this for them."
