DRIVERS can expect delays with an major road to shut overnight next month.
The A131 at Bournebridge Hill in Halstead is scheduled to close on September 12.
The road is a vital route in and out of the town and links Halstead with Braintree, Gosfield and the A1017.
The closure is set to last four nights with closures starting each day at 8pm.
The road will remain closed until 5am each day until the work is completed.
Essex Highways says the road will shut from its junction with Russells Road to its junction with Plaistow Green Road.
Work will be undertaken by Essex County Council to carry out resurfacing and patching work.
An official Essex Highways diversion, which is suitable for all vehicles, would see traffic head down Pennypot Corner, Halstead Road, Gosfield Road, Braintree Road, The Street, Hedingham Road, Halstead Road - A1124, High Street, Bridge Street, Trinity Street, Mount Hill and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
