DRIVERS could be set for another month of delays with a road set to close for the second time.
Sloe Hill at White Ash Green is expected to see its first long-term set of roadworks end on August 5.
Cadent has been carrying out mains replacement works since June 13.
But now residents can expect to see further works close to the same stretch of road with Sloe Hill set to shut on August 8.
Sloe Hill will close from the junction with Beridge Road until September 9.
A no waiting, no loading, and no stopping restriction will also be placed on the same length of Sloe Hill and White ash Green.
Work is due to be carried out by Essex County Council to fix issues with surface water.
A spokesman for Essex Highways said: “The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surface water repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
“An alternative route is available via White Ash Green, Halstead Road, The Street, Braintree Road, Gosfield Road, Halstead Road, Pennypot Corner, Bournebridge Hill, Mount Hill, Chapel Hill and vice versa.
“Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.”
