A MOTOCROSS event raised more than £1,000 for a children’s charity as hundreds gathered to take part.
The Pre 65 Scrambles Club held its annual classic motorcycle scramble near Halstead at the weekend for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The club specialises in running classic motorcycle scrambles in the East of England.
The event in Gosfield, which has taken place every year for the last 12, saw 104 riders take part in various events throughout the day.
There were bikers ranging from 35 to 84 years old, riding bikes from all makes from 1948 to 1975, with some coming from as far away as Sheffield.
Various races saw bikers take to the dirt tracks, riding around and enjoying the day.
There was £1,080 raised through gate entrance takings and an additional £300 raised from the cake stall.
Pre 65 Scrambles Club member Lesley Willmore said: “It was a really enjoyable day with 28 races and no injuries.
“A big thank you to Roz Gage, Rachael Jarvis, Grace Jarvis and Andy Green, as well as all local residents who made and supplied the cakes.”
