DRIVERS could be facing delays with an important village road scheduled to shut.
Station Road in Earls Colne is set to shut on August 1.
The road will shut from its junction with the A1124 Halstead Road with three successive closures taking place over the next three nights.
Each day, the road will shut at 8pm and won’t reopen until 5am.
The final closure will end in the morning of August 4.
The road is being closed by MDS for resurfacing and Essex Highways have implemented a temporary diversion route, suitable for all vehicles.
It would see drivers diverted through Colne Engaine and Countess Cross before joining the A1124 at White Colne.
A spokesman for Essex Highways said: “The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by MDS.
“Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.”
