POLICE are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was left with ‘serious injuries’ after a collision.
A road has been closed in both directions after a crash involving a motorbike happened earlier today in Halstead.
According to Inrix, the A1124 Hedingham Road has been closed in both directions between Bradleys Lane and A131 Market Hill.
The road connects the north-west side of Halstead to the west-side of Essex, and traffic could build up in the area very quickly and easily.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are at the scene of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in Hedingham Road, Halstead.
“We were called at 1.40pm today, Sunday July 3.
“The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and the road is currently closed.
“Our inquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch.
“If you have any information, you can submit a report online at essex.police.uk, quoting incident 584 of July 3.
“You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Motorists are urged to avoid the area however and take alternative routes around the scene.
