A NEW addition has been added to a town war memorial as it gets ready for the jubilee.
‘There but not there’, is the latest part of the Second World War Memorial Bed in the Halstead Public Gardens.
The plane silhouette was donated by Halstead in Bloom and has been installed just in time for the upcoming platinum jubilee celebrations being held in the public gardens, with the red, white, and blue painting also going in.
Halstead Town Council has already announced a number of free events which are set to take place for the celebrations.
On Thursday June 2, singer, guitarist, and DJ Serena Grant will be performing from 11am to noon, followed by the Caribbean Regals Steel Band from 2pm to 5pm
There will also be the lighting of the beacon at the Halstead Fire Station in the evening, at 9.45pm.
On Friday June 3, two outdoor cinema events are taking place in the public gardens, with showings of Encanto at 10am and Piratres of the Caribbean at 2pm.
Saturday June 4 will see events in Weavers Court, including stalls and activities, and on Sunday June 5 in the public gardens there will be a performance from the community choir from 11.30am to 12.30pm, and the Beavers concert from 2pm to 5pm.
