STUDENTS have put their creativity to the test as they painted over an old mural on a garage site, bringing new life to the building.
A group of students from Earls Colne Primary School and Ramsey Academy spent two days each painting the mural on the De Vere Road play park in Earls Colne.
They all helped to paint fresh colours, symbols, animals and more across the mural, breathing new life into the building.
Ramsey Academy technology curriculum leader Jenny Gerrard said: “Our Year 9 students thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the mural project.
“It was wonderful for the students, parents and school to see how their early ideas developed and were brought to life in such a special way.”
The project was led by Eastlight Community Homes and part-funded by developer Bell Group, who supplied paint, materials and labour, and help to build and maintain Eastlight homes across Essex.
Chris Ward, an Eastlight estate co-ordinator, said: “It was fantastic to work with the schools, Bell Group and our residents to see the mural transformed to such a high standard.
“Thank you to all involved – it’s a project to be proud of that communities will enjoy for years to come.”
