A NEW Indian takeaway has opened in Halstead, bringing new dishes to the town.
Star of India opened on Tuesday, and owner Mohammad Uddin says he is excited to be sharing his dishes with the community.
Mohammad, from Halstead, used to own takeaways in Halstead and Gosfield about 15 years ago, and decided it was time to open another one.
The 49-year-old said he is introducing never-before-seen dishes on his menu.
He said: “I am feeling very happy opening the takeaway as I want to introduce new dishes for people in Halstead to try out as there haven’t been many new Indians in the area for the past ten years.
“I advertised on Facebook before the opening, and many people looked forward to the opening and trying it out.
“I will be introducing new dishes to my menu in the chef and house specials which are not in any of the takeaways and restaurants in Halstead, and I will also be introducing Bangladeshi dishes too.”
The takeaway is near Townsford Mill in Causeway House.
