A PLUCKY pensioner is encouraging women to keep fit to mark Women’s History Month, despite being 100 years old.
Nada Edwards has had a lifelong history of keeping active.
The resident at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court, in Stisted, has long been a keep-fit activist for the Guides as well as being part of fitness movements.
To mark Women’s History Month, 100-year-old Nada is encouraging women to prioritise keeping fit and active to support their mental and physical wellbeing.
Nada has been a vegetarian for most of her life and enjoyed keeping active by engaging with different groups.

She was involved with the League of Health and Beauty, a mass fitness movement established in the 1930s by Mary Bagot Stack and whose motto is ‘Movement is life’.
Nada was also a Brownie, which kick-started a life-long involvement in Guiding.
She later went on to run a Guide group as well as becoming the district commissioner.
Home activities coordinator Annette Price said: “Nada has a wonderful personality and is a fantastic character to have at our home.
“Her spirit and drive are a real inspiration to women and girls everywhere to keep active and pursue their dreams.”
Nada was born in July 1921, and marked her 100th birthday at the care home last year where she enjoys taking part in social events and activities.
As well as keeping active, Nada says “a love for Guiding, being surrounded by young children and being close to her family” has kept her young at heart.
