A SHOPPING village is nearing its grand reopening after a major revamp.
Petersfield Shopping Village, in Gosfield, is planning its main reopening on April 2.
The village has been open under new management since February 1, however much of that time has been spent repainting, cleaning, and restructuring to make sure it is ready for the relaunch.
There has also been a number of shops that have been refurbished ready to reopen.
Originally a working farm, it was transformed to an antique shopping village by owner Michael Butler in 2005, but the site suffered greatly in the pandemic.
Halstead businessmen John Potter and Charles Dawson, alongside the Butler family, are taking on the day to day running of the village.

Mr Potter said: “On the day they will have an indoor fair with many stalls.
“You will be able to visit the new Fox in the Stables Tearooms with their wonderful vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free treats, and whilst there also pop out and see their cute creatures, including miniature goats, bantams, and guinea pigs.
“On the day there will also be Prosecco Fizz wagon for that needed refreshment.”
There is also a new beauty and wellness salon and cafe, alongside the animal feeds shop.
Mr Potter added: “The village’s main attraction is the 12 shops in the ‘Street’, brimming with antiques and collectibles, plus the wonderful Cabinet Room with over 150 show cases containing more small antiques, coins and other goodies.”
The opening event is on Saturday April 2, starting at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm.
Petersfield Village is open seven days a week from 9am to 5.30pm.
