PUPILS at a school had more than one reason to celebrate World Book Day this year.
Steeple Bumpstead Primary School were delighted for two reasons as they celebrated the popular school event last week.
The annual day is hugely popular amongst pupils, encouraging not only reading but the joy of dressing up in costume too.
Thousands of children get involved across the county every year, and this was no different.
From footballers to fairies and all in between, it was a huge success in mid Essex.

Pupils at Steeple Bumpstead Primary School were given not only the joy of the event, but a kind donation too.
The pupils’ love of literacy was recognised by pupils dressing up as their favourite book character.
However, the day was made even better as the school celebrated a donation of more than 80 books from parent Jennifer Johnson.
Pupils got together to celebrate the kind donation, as they posed holding up a thank you sign and their favourite books, whilst looking glam in their dress-up outfits.
English lead at the school Jo Hammond said: “We would like to thank Mrs Johnson for this kind and generous donation which will further support literacy in the school and our new library.”
