A TEAM of aspiring footballers have achieved their first win of the season after a difficult start of continuous losses.
Halstead Town Reds, won their first game of the season, having to persevere after a tough start.
The team of eight boys, all under seven, began training together in December.
They began their season in the Colchester and District Youth League with their first match on January 23.
However, it was a tough start to life in the division as they lost their first five consecutive games.

They lost to Stanway Villa, Cornard, Little Oakley, Alresford and Great Bradfords, on a combined score of 38-4.
The team achieved their first win of the season, when they beat Bergholt Health Yellows 7-1, on February 27.
The parents of the team came together to write a congratulatory message, saying: "The much awaited victory has finally come.
“We have seen improvement every week at practice and on Sunday games.
“Well done boys we are all very proud of you. Keep up the hard work.”
Next on the agenda is a game against Rowhedge Junior Reds on March 6, where they hope to use the win to begin momentum in the season ahead.
