A PETRIFIED pussycat is in need of a new home to bring her out of her shell.
Belle is a ten-year-old domestic shorthair who was rescued by Danaher Animal Home in January.
When she arrived at the Wethersfield home, Belle was scared of everything and needed a lot of care and support.
A spokesman for Danaher said: “Belle arrived growling and hissing really loudly and scared of even just the slightest approach or touch.
“Her main handler has been spending time with her every day and getting her out, so she can have human interaction.”

With the support of the Danaher team, Belle has since made big improvements and is now a lot more relaxed and lets people stroke her head.
Recently, she even ventured out to sit on top of her bed and ate in front of someone while they watched on.
The spokesman added: “It will be very slow baby steps with her but with our support and help and carrying on with the work her handler has put into helping her, she will slowly get there.
“Belle does need someone with a lot of experience with cats or someone who has had a cat with similar behaviour.
“We know Belle has it in herself, but just needs to be given the time and a loving understanding home as she is so beautiful and will make a wonderful companion.”
Belle needs new owners who have many years of experience with this type of cat.
