A GIG is being staged at a pub to raise funds towards a cancer charity close to the bosses’ hearts.
The Royal Oak, in Halstead, is playing host to Daniel from JDS who is playing a show for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The band is typically made up of members Jon Halden, Sam Thake, and Daniel Fraser.
Daniel, 49, from Colchester, will be playing solo at the venue to raise vital funds for the charity.
He has has been a professional musician for more than four years.
He said: “We recently played in the Bull Hotel in Halstead and met the young landlady of the Oak.
“We did the gig, and afterwards spoke with her and she was very keen at me playing at the Oak – it will be great.”

Landladies Jasmine Louise, 28, and mum Jackie Roy, have been running the Royal Oak since last July.
Jasmine said the charity is close to her personally and is looking forward to the gig.
She said: “I went for a charity that is close to me personally, as my stepdad is currently battling oesophagus cancer and my family is getting help from Macmillan – it is also a charity close to some of my regulars.
“We are raising money to say thank you for everything they have done, and we are really looking forward to the event, raising a bit of money and having a good time.”
Daniel said while he loves regular gigs, charity shows are just that bit more special.
He said: “Charity gigs are different.
"It is not only about the music, and we always look forward to doing them.
“I am very fortunate to have been given a gift and it is great to use the talents to give something back, especially when you consider the stats of how many people get cancer.
“Macmillan are very good at giving information out as well as taking donations, so it is great to help them out.”
Daniel will be playing at the Royal Oak on Friday, February 25, at 8pm.
