FURRY friends joined Santa and his elves as an animal shelter hosted a special day.
Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield put on its annual toys and treats day at the start of the month.
Families attending brought along their pets and left various toys and treats under the home’s Christmas tree for the animals at the shelter.
There was also a variety of stalls for those families and visitors that came, with cakes, mince pies and refreshments on offer.
Danaher home facilities manager Karen Joyer said: “The day went really well and was very busy.
“I don’t know how many came, but people were constant for two and a half hours and the car park was always full, with people parking on the road.
“People bought along their dogs to join in the festive cheer and have their photos taken in the sleigh with Santa.
“Lots of toys and treats were donated for the animals to enjoy over Christmas.
“Thank you to everyone and thanks to photographers Alison Dewar and Dave Brillus, who offered his services to Danaher for free, he was great.”
The home doesn’t currently know the total amount that was raised on the day yet, but it is thought to be approximately £2000.
