Courts across Essex deal with dozens of drivers who speed each week.
Speeding incurs penalty points and in most cases a hefty fine too.
Here are three cases where drivers were caught speeding on the A120 between Braintree and Stansted.
Robert Walker, 41, of Buntingford, Hertfordshire, was caught travelling at 85mph in a vehicle limited to 60mph on the A120 at Takeley near Stansted on April 15. At Basildon Magistrates’ Court he was handed five penalty points and fined £440. He was also ordered to pay a victim services fund of £44 and costs of £90.

Callum Perrin, 25, of Plaza Close, Sible Hedingham, was recorded travelling at 92mph in a van limited to 60mph on the A120 near Great Dunmow on March 21. At Basildon Magistrates’ Court he was handed six penalty points and ordered to pay a £300 fine. He must also pay a £34 victim services fund and £90 costs.
Matthew Brown, 27, of Marlborough Road, Braintree, was caught travelling at 86mph in a vehicle limited to 60mph on the A120 at Takeley near Stansted on August 24. He was handed five penalty points and fined £292. He was also ordered to pay a £34 victim services fund and £90 costs.
