AN employee is celebrating a major milestone after working for a company for four decades.
Linda Carter, 56, from Colchester, has completed 40 years of service at Maycast-Nokes Precision Engineering.
The firm manufactures castings, supplying various industries form aerospace to classic cars and more.
It is a family-owned business and has been since it was founded in the 1950s, originally known as the Evans Foundry.
And since 1981, Linda has been at the heart of the team.
She works at the company’s site in Halstead and is currently employed as a contracts manager.
She originally joined the company as part of a youth training scheme...but never left.
She was taken on full time in October that year and worked her way through the ranks to contracts manager.
Linda and her team are responsible for contract review which includes order processing, document control for the shop floor, plus export control.

The business has changed a lot over the years.
When she started, Linda said there were about ten to 12 people on the shop floor with five in office and with a turn over of about £250,000.
Now at the Halstead site, there are 95 employees and the company is a multi-million pound business.
Linda said she was amazed how long she had been working for the firm and said she was pleased to still be part of it.
She said: “It has absolutely flown by, I can’t believe it is 40 years.
“It is only when you start to think back that you realise how long it has been and how many people you’ve seen come and go, all the many people I’ve worked with.
“It’s probably a combination of the people here and the fact I do enjoy my job that has kept me here so long.”
Linda also reflected on what changes and growth she has seen in the firm which aims to be the UK’s most versatile aluminium foundry.
She said: “It has been great to be a part of the changes and grow with the company.”
To mark her four decades of loyal service, Linda was presented with some flowers and champagne from directors of Maycast Derek Redgwell, Steve Wallings and Dave Blower, all of whom congratulated her and all of her hard work over the years.
