A NEW choir is set to come to Halstead next week for a free eight-week pilot.
Popular community choir the Big Sing Soul is opening a new daytime choir.
The choir is open to everyone, and has been set up for people who can’t get to evening choirs and welcomes everyone aged 16 and over.
There are no fees or auditions, but bosses ask people to pre-book.
A Big Sing spokeswoman said: “We cannot wait to meet you and share the love of our Big Sing family.
“We sing a mixed repertoire of appealing music from pop, soul, gospel, R&B and Motown, as well as original songs of our own and all are inspirational songs to uplift and energise.
“We provide the lyrics digitally for you to download and we do not use sheet music.
“Whether you think you can sing or not, if you love music, and have a passion to sing bring your smile, enthusiasm and let’s have some fun.
“No experience is needed – just give singing a try.”
Although all sessions this term are free, a small voluntary donation towards refreshments and venue costs is optional.
The Halstead choir will meet for the first time at the Queens Hall, on Chipping Hill, on Tuesday from 10am to noon.
