POLICE say they are appealing for information after reports of a man 'wolf-whistling' a 12-year-old girl.
Officers with Essex Police are investigating the incident which occurred on two separate occasions.
Essex Police say they received reports of the incident on Sunday, July 4 at around 11.30am.
It is understood the incidents took place in Earls Colne with the first on June 30 and the second happening the next day.
Reports say the 12-year-old was walking home from school when a man in a white van acted inappropriately towards them.
In the first incident, Essex Police have said they were told the man leaned out of his van and wolf-whistled the girl.
Now Essex Police are appealing for information about the incidents as they conduct an investigation.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We received a call shortly before 11.30am on July 4 reporting a man driving a white van had behaved inappropriately towards a 12 year-old girl.
"The caller reported two incidents: one on 30 June where the man reportedly leaned out of his vehicle and wolf-whistled at the girl and one the following day where it was reported the same man passed her in his vehicle, stared at her and smiled at her.
